Desktop version of MS Teams starts with a white blank screen.

1. Restart the Application and Computer

  • Quit Microsoft Teams by right-clicking the Teams icon in your system tray and selecting "Quit".

  • If the icon isn't visible, open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), find Microsoft Teams, and click "End Task".

  • Restart your computer and reopen Teams to check if the issue is resolved.

2. Clear Microsoft Teams Cache

Clearing the cache often resolves this issue:

  • Close Teams completely.

  • Press Win + R, type %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams, and press Enter.

  • Delete all contents within this folder.

  • Restart your computer and launch Teams again.

3. Repair Microsoft Teams

  • Right-click on the Start menu, select "Apps and Features".

  • Find Microsoft Teams, select it, click "Modify", and choose either "Quick Repair" or "Online Repair".

  • Follow the prompts to complete the repair process.

4. Check for Conflicting Software or Security Tools

Some users reported that security software like Netskope or other network monitoring tools might cause this issue. If your organization uses such software, try whitelisting Microsoft Teams and related Microsoft URLs.

5. Reinstall Microsoft Teams

If none of the above solutions work:

  • Uninstall Microsoft Teams completely from your system.

  • Download a fresh copy from portal.office.com (recommended by some users) rather than directly from Microsoft's main site.

  • Install this new version and relaunch Teams.

Following these steps typically resolves the white screen issue in Microsoft Teams.
